Egypt Is Reinventing Itself. Most Travellers Haven’t Noticed Yet.
For many people around the world, Egypt is frozen in time.
They picture the Pyramids, camel rides, crowded bazaars and a destination that has remained unchanged for decades.
But the Egypt I see every day tells a very different story.
The world's most successful destinations never stop evolving.
Egypt is no exception.
A Journey Through Tourism
My career has allowed me to experience tourism from almost every perspective.
I began by selling package holidays. Later, I designed tailor-made journeys and escorted groups abroad. I worked inside one of the world's most iconic luxury hotels, where guest experience was never left to chance.
Eventually, Egypt became my home.
Living here has given me something few tourism professionals experience: the opportunity to watch a destination transform from within.
Not through statistics alone—but through everyday life, conversations, investments, new developments and changing traveller expectations.
Egypt Is Entering a New Era
Many guidebooks still describe the Egypt of ten years ago.
Today's Egypt is different.
The opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum has already begun reshaping cultural tourism. New luxury hotels continue to enter the market. Entire districts, highways, airports and cities are changing the country's infrastructure.
International investment is accelerating.
Private tourism experiences are expanding.
Luxury hospitality is becoming increasingly competitive.
This is not simply growth.
It is a repositioning of Egypt on the global tourism map.
The Traveller Has Changed Too
Perhaps the biggest transformation isn't Egypt itself.
It's the traveller.
People are no longer satisfied with checking landmarks off a list.
They want stories behind the monuments.
They value comfort without sacrificing authenticity.
They seek meaningful experiences instead of crowded itineraries.
They want to understand the culture, not simply observe it.
This shift is changing how destinations need to present themselves—and how professionals within tourism need to think.
Direction Matters More Than Perfection
Is Egypt perfect?
No destination is.
Every country has challenges.
What matters is the direction in which it is moving.
From my perspective, Egypt is investing in its future more deliberately than many people outside the country realise.
That is why I believe the next decade will redefine how international travellers perceive Egypt.
Why This Matters
Through Oh My Egypt, my goal is not simply to recommend places to visit.
I want to explain modern Egypt.
To translate its rapid transformation.
To connect travellers with experiences that go beyond traditional sightseeing.
Because the Egypt many people think they know no longer exists.
The question is no longer whether Egypt is worth visiting.
The real question is whether you're ready to discover the Egypt that is emerging today.
